My name is Ágnes and I live and work in the UK for the most of the year (March-November) I go home for a few months to Hungary in winter. I was born in 1980 in Hungary in a small town. I spent most of my time in the UK since 2005. I am an enthusiastic person, especially when it’s time to teach as helping people to speak my own language gives me a lot of joy.
First I studied German for over 12 years from the age of 8, and I started English at the age of 14 in grammar school.
I’ve been teaching Hungarian online since the beginning of 2014. Sometime in 2015 I also joined VerbalPlanet.
Although I have a great passion for languages, in my professional development I took a different path at first and gained an engineering diploma in a Budapest university. Later I chose a new passion: photography and got some certificates whilst working. I only started teaching Hungarian first to help out some of my sister’s students. She is a linguist and as such also a multilingual person. (Check out her website: Angéla) The initial “taster” made me realize how much I enjoy teaching and the feedback was also good…so I sought new students as time went by. So many, that teaching became primary.
I have loads of patience and different ways to explain until you understand this beautiful but sometimes hard language. My youngest student so far was 12 and the oldest was over 60. I have tought people with learning difficulties and some with low self esteem. I think of teaching not purely as passing on information to someone. I believe building a relationship with clients as a supporting coach is also needed and in my experience this attitude is very much appreciated by people.
