“I found Ágnes Borbély during a search for online Hungarian tuition via Skype. And I’m very glad I did!
Firstly, her manner is incredibly warm, inviting and most convivial. Prior to each lesson, she’d assemble easy-to-follow handouts which she’d email me prior to the lesson that week for me to study.
Hungarian, I’ve discovered, is not an easy language to learn, and there’s no getting around this, sadly! But Ágnes’ friendly and encouraging approach, plus her willingness to explain some very difficult concepts, made me keen to continue with the lessons, despite the difficulty.
And coupled with the fact that language tuition can be very expensive, but her lessons are reasonably enough priced such that I periodically would do a double lesson, I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
“I studied with Agnes for half a year before my moving to Budapest. She helped me to get the basic knowledge of grammar rules, most useful words and expressions. When I had the test to the language school in Budapest I was able to pass it on a high level and went to the advanced group.
I looked sceptically to the opportunity to study by Skype. But I never had any problems with it. I felt like the teacher was in the same room as me.
After each class Agi sent me the new words that we had during the class, it was very comfortable. She always checked the homework in time and answered my questions.
What I like most in Agnes, that she is very flexible. If you are interested in some other topic, grammar or you want take this or that now, she always tries to satisfy your wants.
The classes with Agi were very interesting.

“Last year I discovered a series of Hungarian pronunciation videos on YouTube delivered by a helpful instructor. I watched them several times because they were very well done and useful. One lucky afternoon I read in the comments that this instructor took students on skype so I wasted no time putting myself in touch with Ági. She responded promptly and set me up with a trial lesson, which I enjoyed so much I continued for many months after with sessions. I find her teaching style to be fun and upbeat and exactly what I want in a class. Each session is educational, interesting and filled with encouragement. Ági is very flexible as I progress through the lessons. If I want to work on my reading out loud instead of grammar, the lesson focuses on my needs rather than a rigid and generic agenda. Ági is very professional and I would recommend her to anyone.”

“Agnes was teaching me Hungarian for almost one year. We had once a week a 45 min lesson. I really enjoyed learning Hungarian with her! She created the lessons fun, interesting and challenging. I especially appreciated her flexibility and her patience. Agnes explained the grammar in an easy and picturesque way and provided excellent material to work with.
Thanks to her I felt more confident moving to Hungary. Even if I still need a lot of practice to be able to catch up in a fast conversation, Agnes’ lessons helped me to be able to understand the main content of it.
